The Women’s Giving Circle Awards a Record-Setting Grant Amount in 2022! Posted on November 7, 2022 by Eau Claire Community Foundation The members of the Women's Giving Circle are awarding a record-setting $49,600 in grants to seven local nonprofits! In honor of the WGC's 15th anniversary, grants of up to $7500 were awarded this year. Each grant recipient helps to fulfill the WGC’s mission of supporting women and children in the Eau Claire area. The organizations and programs the WGC has voted to fund are: Chippewa Valley Free Clinic—“Advancing Women's Health Services” Chippewa Valley LGBTQ+ Community Center: "Youth Engagement Initiative" Family Resource Center: "Reaching More Families with Triple P" Feed My People Food Bank: “Childhood Hunger Program Expansion” L.E. Philips Memorial Public Library: "Eau Claire Laundromat Libraries" Literacy Chippewa Valley: "ELL Classes with Child Care" Professional Dental Hygiene Express, Inc.: "Bright Smiles" The Women’s Giving Circle members pool their charitable dollars into a fund at ECCF in order to maximize their philanthropic impact. The WGC began in 2007, when a group of over 100 Founding Members each pledged a total of $1,000 over 4 years. Today, it has more than 240 members, and it continues to grow. This year’s grant awards bring the WGC’s total grant distributions since inception to $451,021. Grantees will officially receive their awards at the Gift of Giving Breakfast, which will take place on Dec. 6, 2022. The Women’s Giving Circle members invite the Eau Claire community to attend this celebration of philanthropy and bring a friend (or two, or three)! They also welcome new members; anyone can join the WGC at any time.
