Mission

The mission of the Women’s Giving Circle, a fund of the Eau Claire Community Foundation, is to improve the quality of life for women and children in the greater Eau Claire area through collective philanthropy.

WGC History

In 2007, 100 women came together to form the Women’s Giving Circle (WGC) for the Eau Claire community. These women wanted to create a collaborative effort to contribute social, intellectual, and financial resources to support effective community programs for women and children.

WGC is a fund of the Eau Claire Community Foundation (ECCF). It leverages the resources of individuals for greater impact by pooling members’ dollars and using the money to award grants to local non-profit organizations. The power of collective giving allows us to amplify the impact.

Of the $250 annual membership contribution, 50% goes to the WGC Endowment Fund to ensure the future of the organization, 45% goes to the WGC Grant Fund to finance grants, and 5% supports ECCF’s administrative costs.

Women aged fifty-five or older may choose a Lifetime Membership by making a one-time payment of $6,000 to the WGC. This $6,000 contribution may be paid in an initial lump sum or may be paid over three year pledge with a $2,000 payment made each year.

Since it was first established, WGC has awarded over $450,000 in grants to local nonprofits!
