Draper Hills Financial Literacy Endowment The Draper Hills Financial Literacy Endowment funds the employment of a full-time certified teacher who implements financial literacy education and programs for grades 3-12 at the School District of Loyal, Wisconsin. Financial Literacy Mission Statement Mission: To teach students independent financial decision making skills. Vision: To Equip, Encourage and Empower Loyal students to become Financially Free. Financial Freedom: When your passive investment income covers all your expenses. Our role model and benefactor: Eldon Hill. Eldon was born in Loyal, Wisconsin in 1921 and grew up during the Great Depression. He raised rabbits and raked leaves to earn an income. He later attended Medical School and married. As a Doctor he saved and invested, vowing not to use credit. He was very proud of the fact that most of his multi-million dollar estate was earned during his retirement period by investing, and not during his medical career. In 2014, Eldon established the endowment that funds the Financial Literacy Program in Loyal. Although Eldon passed away at the age of 102, his vision lives on through this Fund.
