Doug and Kate Lindsay Adventure Fund

About the Fund

Front to back, Gillian Golden, 11, Chippewa Falls, mom Carla Golden, Lillian Meier, 8, Chippewa Falls, mom Karrie Meier, and Amanda Kircher of Eau Claire skied at Beaver Creek Reserve on February 6, 2011. Admission to the Wise Nature Center, snowshoeing and cross-country skiing were all free for the day as part of the Beaver Creek Reserve Annual French Toast Breakfast.

Nature lovers can rejoice in the Beaver Creek Reserve, which offers 400 acres of diverse habitats to explore. Bordered by the Eau Claire River, it has an abundance of flora and fauna to be discovered and plenty of educational sites, including the Wise Nature Center.

The Reserve has three new funds to support specific aspects of its operations. One of them is the Doug and Kate Lindsay Adventure Fund. Created when Kate retired as Director of the Friends of Beaver Creek Reserve, this fund is used to purchase or replace equipment, including kayaks, GPS units, and binoculars, that Reserve visitors use on their adventures. The Lindsays are lovers of nature and want to share their passion with future generations.

Anyone wishing to support this fund can donate directly via the Beaver Creek Reserve donation page at  (You can type the name of this fund in the "Comments/Donation Instructions" box.)
