The Women's Giving Circle will be accepting grant applications from April 1 to July 1, 2019. Any Eau Claire area nonprofit with a new or enhanced program that benefits Eau Claire area women and/or children is eligible to apply. The WGC will be awarding grants of up to $6000 in 2019. 2017 ECCF Competitive Grant Awards Announced

Grants Committee Chair Karl Murch speaks at the 2017 ECCF Annual Meeting. The Eau Claire Community Foundation is proud to announce that it awarded $118,441 in grants through its 2017 competitive grant cycle. Most grant recipients received their checks at the Foundation’s Annual Meeting on June 7. In this grant cycle, the Foundation received 65 grant applications and was able to fully or partially fund 51 of them.   Students take part in Fractal Camp, a STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, and math) program. If a new state tax credit is approved, charitable donors could soon see a financial return on their generosity. Women’s Giving Circle Appeals to Young Philanthropists

The Women’s Giving Circle (WGC) is pleased to announce its outreach to Young Philanthropists. 100 young people between the ages of 22 and 39 will have the opportunity to become members of the WGC at a reduced rate: The normal annual donation of $250 will be reduced to $150 for up to three years. Membership will be $250 annually after those three years or when a new member turns 40. The WGC, a fund of the Eau Claire Community Foundation, was founded in 2007. For 15 years, the Children’s Legacy Luncheon was an event which created awareness of special issues regarding the welfare of children in our community and raised funds to help causes related to our children. The Children’s Legacy Luncheon also honored community members who had made important and lasting contributions on behalf of children in the greater Eau Claire area. $1.5 Million Challenge Grant for the Confluence Arts Center

Eau Claire’s Confluence Arts Center received a huge boost in its fundraising efforts with the announcement of a $1.5 million challenge grant to the project. The goal of the grant is to secure another $1.5 million in pledges and gifts by September 30. The resulting $3 million will allow for the Arts Center groundbreaking and construction to begin in September. IRA Charitable Rollover Is Now Permanent!

On Dec. 18, 2015, President Obama signed a permanent extension of the IRA charitable rollover into law. It will be effective retroactive to January 1, 2015, and has no expiration date. As a result, donors age 70 1/2 and older may transfer up to $100,000 from their IRA to a qualified public charity. The transfer will be made free of federal income tax, and the gift qualifies for the donor's 2015 required minimum distribution (RMD) for the year.   Many of you had been waiting for passage of this law before…

Have you heard? Trojan Horse won the 2015 Sculpture Tour Eau Claire People's Choice Award! Congratulations to artist Dale Lewis of Minnesota. Trojan Horse Each year, the People's Choice Award is given to the sculpture that receives the most votes. Congratulations to the nonprofit organizations that received grants from the 2015 Eau Claire Community Foundation Competitive Grant Cycle! The checks were officially presented at the ECCF Annual Meeting on June 4, 2015.
