Giving Tuesday is December 1, 2020! Posted on November 23, 2020 by Eau Claire Community Foundation Every year, people all over the world celebrate Giving Tuesday by supporting the charitable causes they love. This year, Giving Tuesday falls on December 1. But what if you can’t pick just one nonprofit? ECCF’s Community Fund might be the perfect solution for you. It addresses the Eau Claire area’s greatest needs by supporting grants to a diverse array of nonprofits through our annual Community Grant cycle. Your support is more crucial than ever because so many nonprofits are struggling to adapt to the pandemic: Many lost much-needed revenue to closed doors and cancelled fundraisers, while those who are able to stay open face unprecedented costs to maintain a clean and safe environment for staff and patrons. Earlier this year, ECCF established the Response and Recovery Community Fund to help local nonprofits address these challenges. Thanks to donors’ incredible generosity, it was able to award more than $612,000 in grants to 41 Eau Claire area nonprofits. With the partnership of the United Way of the Greater Chippewa Valley, which ran its own Response and Recovery grant cycle in collaboration with ours, the grant total was close to $1 million! While the Response & Recovery Community Fund is now closed, the Community Fund is continuing its mission of supporting local nonprofits. The CARES Act offers an incentive to be extra generous this year: Donors can take a deduction of $300 beyond the charitable deduction, and a Qualified Charitable Deduction allows traditional IRA owners to lower their adjusted gross income by deducting distributions on tax returns. A gift to the Community Fund is an excellent and tax-wise way to help many different nonprofits continue their work on behalf of the greater Eau Claire area. Your gift will give forever through this endowment. CLICK HERE TO LEARN MORE ABOUT THE COMMUNITY FUND CLICK HERE TO DONATE
