ECPD Junior Police Academy Fund

Officer with dog and kidsThe Eau Claire Police Department (ECPD) Junior Police Academy Fund supports the Junior Police Academy. This free week-long course for area youth ages 12-17 allows police officers and students to interact in a fun setting. In the process, students learn about the role police officers play in our community as well as develop an understanding of laws and law enforcement.

During the course, students receive basic technical instruction about police work, develop an understanding of criminal law and the judicial system, and learn about various roles within the ECPD. As they learn, they develop problem solving and decision making skills that will serve them well for the rest of their lives.

Support for this Fund furthers the mission of the ECPD Junior Police Academy: to enrich the ECPD’s connections with the children of Eau Claire and foster lasting partnerships that motivate them to become responsible, involved citizens.
