HISTORY:
Post-secondary education, primarily attending a college to further oneself, is most important to Al and Marcia. Al and Marcia worked in the field of education as teachers, and Al was a principal for 35 years. Al, a farm boy and a family first-generation college graduate, was an intermediate grade teacher for two years, followed by a teaching principalship for two years in Weyerhaeuser, WI, before becoming an elementary principal at 6 schools in the Eau Claire Area School District: Black, McKinley, Sherman, Longfellow, Manz and Locust Lane.
Marcia was an elementary teacher in Ladysmith, WI for 3 years before teaching at four Eau Claire Area Schools: Sam Davey, Park, Arlington and Meadowview. Throughout her 33 year career, she served as a cooperating teacher for many UW-EC education student teachers. After retirement, she was a substitute teacher for nine more years.
