Draper Hills Financial Literacy Endowment

The Draper Hills Financial Literacy Endowment funds the employment of a full-time certified teacher who implements financial literacy education and programs for grades 3-12 at the School District of Loyal, Wisconsin.

Financial Literacy Mission Statement

Mission:  To teach students independent financial decision making skills.

Vision:  To Equip, Encourage and Empower Loyal students to become Financially Free.

Financial Freedom:  When your passive investment income covers all your expenses.

Our role model and benefactor:  Eldon Hill.  Eldon was born in Loyal, Wisconsin in 1921 and grew up during the Great Depression. He raised rabbits and raked leaves to earn an income.  He later attended Medical School and married.  As a Doctor he saved and invested, vowing not to use credit.  He was very proud of the fact that most of his multi-million dollar estate was earned during his retirement period by investing, and not during his medical career.  In 2014, Eldon established the endowment that funds the Financial Literacy Program in Loyal. Although Eldon passed away at the age of 102, his vision lives on through this Fund.

Life Quote: “The quality of your life is not determined by the Dreams that you Dream, but by the CHOICES that you make!”

Here are the Choices that Financial Literacy students are committed to making:

Choice 1:  To Plan

I am responsible for my own financial decisions.  I will take ownership for creating my own personal financial plan, and making the choices necessary in order to make it happen.

Choice 2:  To have Integrity

I will adhere to moral and ethical principles, be honest, and demonstrate good character when dealing with money and finances.

Choice 3:  To be a Good Steward

I will manage the financial resources given to me in a responsible manner, using them to grow and expand my wealth.

Choice 4:  To be Thankful

I will express gratitude and appreciation for my financial success.

Choice 5:  To be Generous

I will be unselfish and giving with my financial success.
