We at ECCF are excited to partner with Ann Kaiser of AMK Nonprofit Coaching to offer a free two session workshop series to help Eau Claire area nonprofits improve their grant writing processes. Read on for a detailed description of the series:

Grant Writing Workshop Series: Setting Your Nonprofit Up for Funding Success

Strong grant proposals can open the door to new funding opportunities—but for many nonprofits, the process feels overwhelming and time-consuming. This two-part workshop series is designed to help Eau Claire area nonprofits develop more efficient, effective grant writing practices so they can secure the resources they need to carry out their mission.

Each 90-minute session combines practical instruction with hands-on activities, giving participants tools they can immediately integrate into their organization’s work.

Session 1: Setting Up for Success — How to Make Your Grant Writing Process Manageable

Oct. 13, 10:00 am to 11:30 am, L.E. Phillips Memorial Public Library Riverview Room

Learn how to approach grant writing with confidence and clarity. Participants will:

  • Discover how reviewers read proposals (“the reviewer lens”)
  • Avoid common mistakes that keep proposals from being funded
  • Break the grant writing process into manageable steps
  • Begin creating an individualized grant-writing task list with timeline

Takeaway: A personalized action plan and timeline to make grant writing less stressful and more effective.

Session 2: Delivering Results — Showing How Yours Is the Organization to Fund

November 17, 4:30 pm to 6:00 pm, L.E. Phillips Memorial Public Library Riverview Room

Gain practical strategies to make your proposals stand out. Participants will:

  • Build a compelling case for support using strong data
  • Develop a clear and credible budget narrative
  • Highlight authentic partnerships and collaborations
  • Write a relevant contingency plan

Takeaway: A checklist of essential components to strengthen your case for support, budget, collaborations, and contingency planning.

Who Should Attend: Nonprofit leaders, staff, board members, or volunteers who are involved in writing—or overseeing—the grant writing process.

By the end of this workshop series, participants will leave with practical tools, personalized plans, and greater confidence to write successful grants that fund their important work in the community.

Although this workshop series is free, seating is limited, so please reserve your ticket by Nov. 12.  A video of each session will be recorded and posted on ECCF’s Grant Opportunities page.
